          I made some delicious damson jam yesterday, using the microwave. You only need one bowl, a little water to simmer them, and then the sugar. I checked with a sugar thermometer and got a nice set, not too firm. This method is quick, and there are no messy pans to struggle with.

              I use a teaspoon to remove the ones that rise to the surface. It doesn't take long but a few still remain peeking charmingly through the side of the jar.
