I'm more of a wine drinker but I do occassionally drink beer. My favorites are IPAs. The trend in the States now is toward micro brews and it isn't unusual for a restaurant to offer more than 100 different varieties of micbrobrews.
Last year I vacationed in Central Europe. I had expected that in Prague and Austria pubs and restaurants would do the same, only more so. After all, the average beer consumption in the Czech Republic is more than 9 times per capita that of the States, and I'm sure that the Austrians are no slouches in that department either. I was therefore quite shocked that at least in the restaurants that we frequented, they would offer two types of beers at most.

Talking about beers from the Czech Republic - I recently came across Staropramen. Sainsbury's and The Co-op sell it. A refreshing change. Indeed there's an open bottle as I write
