Deeply envious MrGG - I've enjoyed many a pint of oyster stout with oysters and without tho' not the one from Mumbles Brewery. It's a great idea for a birthday present - did they deliver it?

I see. Is it called treason because if it is poured too quickly and badly the customer has to demand "off with its head?"

Also Throbbers, and I'll need to check this out, I don't think the job description in these EU controlled days is " Bar Wenches". Just saying......

Have I mentioned St Peter's Brewery in Suffolk(I think). Run by monks from their monastery . They do a lovely Ruby Red Ale at 4.2%

                Home brew

Only just found this thread, though it seems to have been going a while. Any home brewers on here?
I make a fairly malty ale around 5.5 - 6%. My father started brewing when I was 10 so I was sort of brought up on it!
I have a medical condition- I am fool intolerant.

Oh I see your in Cornwall, JW!! I should think the Cornish water helps an awful lot! A few of my favourite breweries are in that county!

I'd love to have a go at it, but what chance is there of brewing something decent?

I was thinking that Jimbo might like to introduce us all to his ale by bringing a cask up to the traditional "Home brew" night at the proms.
Its usually a Mahler night with particularly long queues, IIRC.
(arena queue, not too far from the Imperial college toilets works best).

                        I would thoroughly recommend these

the Wherry is particularly fine IMV

(or get one of your mates to open a microbrewery )

It's all well and good making recommendations (thorough or the other ones), but how do you make sure it all turns out nice?

(We can't open a micro-brewery because of bank charges)

there is bound to be an EU grant , if you make it unusual and organic, and flog it at Waitrose.

blimey stop being so ruddy cautious and have a go
if it was a CD of evil noise music played on instruments made from human bones (and I do know of such a thing ) you would be straight in there
