Yesterday a very nice bottle of Waggle Dance - honey beer brewed by Wells. Very nice indeed (5%)
      Best regards,

If you've got space in your fridge these boxes from Tefal seem to work quite well - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tefal-191820...4048863&sr=8-1 They come in various sizes, and may be slightly cheaper in France if you ever go there. Probably extends the life of cheese by several weeks, and it doesn't seem to go furry like it used to!

Why do you like beer (if you do)?

Do you like beer for its taste, or for its ... er .... effect?

            Did you always like beer?

Did you find beer tasted unpleasant at first?

Is beer drinking something which needs practice?

What other reasons might engender a liking for beer?

Both! But primarily the taste: other drinks might have a similar "effect", but I wouldn't choose to drink them.

              Did you always like beer?
When first given samples as a special treat when I was under-age, I didn't at first like it; but I enjoyed the atmosphere surrounding the times when this was allowed. As a teenager, I preferred the sweeter lagers that I wouldn't touch nowadays. "Proper beers" (ales, bitter, stouts) was a delight I discovered as a student - and haven't looked back.

Is beer drinking something which needs practice?
Well, it's something I enjoy practicing on a fairly regular basis!

What other reasons might engender a liking for beer?
I don't know - these were all the reasons I needed!

IIRC,Ferney likes different beers because their qualities remind him of his favourite composers...

... or possibly vice/versa? (That Beethoven: so hoppy, yet with lovely floral tones!)

                    Nice.

For me, Wagner is always wheatbeer.

Anyone tried the Icelandic Einstok white beer (astonishingly pure-tasting and clean - like a hoegaarden one hundred times crisper)?

I had a lovely pint earlier this week: a pint of XT Dark Roast http://www.xtbrewing.com/beers.html (scroll down to No. 8)

More of a winter pint, this - very dark (think Theakston's Old Peculiar), a nice head, and lots of chocolate and, er, roastiness. Gorgeous.

Skol and Heineken must therefore be Einaudi and karl Jenkins respectively - briefly attractive soon a terrible cheap bore .
