I was a member of an online forum once where a few members agreed to meet online at an agreed time one Friday evening to sample some bottled beers we liked and were happy to recommend. It worked quite well. In fact there was quite a party atmosphere with the radio station playing in the background. Oh, alright then, I confess, it was Planet Rock . Seems like a very long time ago now, must have been 2007 (ish). Forums were fresh, new and exciting then. If anybody has a serious interest in the place of music radio forums in broadcasting, the Planet Rock forumites, aka PRATS (Planet Rock Audience Talking Shop) played a key role in securing the purchase of the DAB station by a consortium of interested parties including Brian May, the late, great Gary Moore (RIP) and Ian Anderson when it was facing closure.

Cheers BBMk2 (only just noticed there's a right and a left-handed beer glass emoji ... ) Hope your band arrangements are going well
And the tune ends too soon for us all

Well it hasn’t all turned blue, unlike our G O C in the SW! But beer still good in both!

Currently sipping a non-alcoholic Becks and munching Twiglets. Miles Davis's Steamin' is playing.

Just thinking that it’ll have to be bottled beer for a month or two now!

Hadn’t thought of that - much. I don’t drink much beer these days, but maybe need about 6 months worth. Perhaps 100 bottles would be about right. That's based on an assumption of complete isolation - so only about 4 bottles/week, and there are two of us, though we have other things to drink as well. Enthusiastic beer drinkers would get through very considerably more - maybe ten times as many.

The predictions are gloomy, and don't seem to get really bad for a month or two. I just hope that they're not as bad as these "moderate" cases suggest.

Seeing the topic header cheered me up a bit.

What would others buy if they had to stock up for (say) 6 months?

                      Or Adnam's "Broadside"
                      Or Hook Norton's "Old Hooky"

Adnams "Broadside" or "Broadsword" as I always call it, as a homage to my favourite film "Where Eagles Dare" is a superb ale. All Adnams products are excellent, although "Ghost Ship" is a little too light for me.

Totally agreed, Danny Boy (inc about Ghost Ship)

(Broadsword is an excellent name for an ale - even without the WED reference!)

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                            Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Might just see what our local Majestic stocks, as they do a good local delivery service (and we are already customers).

PS: Very little, but they do sell Corona!

A couple of local breweries have got creative. One is offering a contactless drive-through service for folks to collect beer, and another is offering deliveries to householders and also home delivery of its pub food. There are a great many small breweries in this neck of the woods so I imagine there will be other similar non-pub/shop options for acquiring some liquid cheer appearing in due course. As the drive through owner said, he's brewed the stuff and has to do something with it if it can't go to the pubs.
