For a serious meal, the ambience here is terrific:

This, which is all new to me, is seriously wild:

Should I be worried? I have no memory of starting this thread in 2012, nor of the 'musical venue' which introduced me to the snack (think it must have been King's Place, and therefore cost £25 - plus £10 for a small glass of wine.
Following Serial's: a stick of celery, a chunk of stilton and a ripe pear - but I probably suggested that back in 2013 I'd also want two or three water biscuits to go with that. No butter. It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Waitrose sell a very good NZ Sauvignon called the Doctor's which is only 9.5 degrees alcohol but dry . I understand some winemakers are using reverse osmosis to reduce alcohol levels in their wines.
It seems that climate change and the tastes of one very influential American critic( fortunately now retired ) have both played a big part in increasing alcohol levels.

Sounds like FFs snack venue reall was a King’s Place, at those prices.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

Another unexpected "plain delicacy" is cold sliced cheddar cheese on buttered digestive biscuits.
