we went to Roquefort last year on holiday, brilliant place entirely devoted to blue cheese and a bit shabby
so after tasting several different ones and in combinations found that there was some hefty local red that was perfect with the strong taste
makes perfect sense in a way , Sake goes well with Sushi etc etc

Toast with Marmite or marmalade. Cup of tea. I find the older I get the simpler my tastes become. I'm rather nervous about going to stay with my son next week, because their food is very different from mine.
Am I the only person in the world who doesn't like wine? It (any sort) always makes me feel ill.

[and all other booze come to that] and with you on the delights of marmite toast but also very enamoured of cheap tinned mushrooms and emmental on toast .... with black coffee!According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

Marmite,now you're talking.
Cheese on toast with a thin coating of marmite(or worcester sauce) and a nice hot steaming mug of black coffee (which a few years ago would have been followed by a cigarette, not any more though).

I'm relieved there are other wine-dislikers out there!
Another sweet snack I used to love but tend to eat less frequently now, because it's too fattening, is cinnamon toast. Toast a thick slice of white bread on one side, then spread the other side with a mixture of sugar, butter and cinnamon and toast/grill it. Absolutely delicious.

all depends on where you get yours from
our elderflower 2011 was about 10%
and the Ardeche rose we bought at the Vineyard about 11%
