I usually have a bowl of Greek yoghurt, with fresh fruit (usually a nectarine, but sometimes a pear or a banana) and Greek honey, accompanied by a cup of coffee.

However, if we have had sausages the night before, I’ll save one of the cooked sausages for breakfast. I will fry some chopped onions until soft, and then add chopped tomatoes, salt and paprika. Once these have cooked down, I’ll add a sausage, chopped into slices, break an egg over the top, and cover until the egg has been cooked in the tomato/sausage sauce. Serve with a slice of hot buttered toast. Lovely

If it did, it would prove a serious danger to the upper classes, and probably lead to acts of violence in Grosvenor Square."

Pretty much my favourite place for a breakfast. The veggie boatmans. Impossible to finish, and will keep you going all day.
“ Was breakfast invented at the Lock inn? “

If you find yourself down that way,(West Wilts) don’t pass up the chance.

Meanwhile at home, ideally in winter toast and peanut butter, but at the moment we are really enjoying overnight oats with cashew milk , honey, and some fruit ontop, hopefully fresh raspberries from the garden from about Thursday, as the first few are now ripe. Not much street cred in that , but really very good and sustaining.

My favourite current treat early in the day is a big ( decent) instant coffee after a morning run. Bliss.

The sausage thing sounds brilliant, but I simply cannot eat egg white. Not allergic,it’s just the texture.

Yep, the sausage thing sounds good.

I used to really enjoy peanut butter on thickly-cut toast. These days we use pre-sliced bread which is good for sandwiches and the toaster, but I do miss sometimes the door-stopper thick bread toasted... probably something to do with the grill in the oven not working - which also means cheese on toast is generally off the cards, even though the microwave has a grill for either of those things, we just tend not to use it...

And I cannot eat the yolk. I won't say why. As for alcohol at breakfast, only during the strawberry season when I slosh on red wine and sugar or occasionally sip a glass of champagne. Otherwise, muesli with fruit nuts and plant milk. Then lunch later on and nothing else until breakfast next day, bar possibly a mug of herb tea at teatime. Nothing solid after 2pm.

No. There are at least two of us. Why spoil good bread by burning it?

Our Christmas tradition is to have toast, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with a glass (or two) of champagne for breakfast on Christmas morning. Sets you up nicely for the drinking to come.

What - not even in scrambled egg, or an omelette?

I can eat and do enjoy those. Just not egg white on its own, sadly. My room 101 food !!
