    The celebrity chef and TV personality was known for his spiky hair and passion for British cuisine.

    Very sad at such a relatively young age. Not seen regualrly on the screens for quite a while as a young talented chef back in the 80s he was the favoured flavour of many. Of their time his books championed British cooking. RIP Gary.

      Indeed. In the ‘90s, his City Rhodes restaurant was my preferred place to go with clients. I’ve revelled more often than was seemly in his astounding and generous dessert combining crème brûlée with bread and butter pudding

      Cleobury, Miller, James, Rhodes - so many pleasures of different kinds over the years
