    The Classic FM Sandwich

'Build your perfect sandwich' they say, 'and we'll tell you which composer will share it with you'. Harmless enough fun. Not part of an audience marketing big data analytics research, is it?. Anyway, the next time Hildegard of Bingen pops round it'll be thinly sliced roast beef with a gherkin on granary. Oh?
And the tune ends too soon for us all

Radio 3 had a "What wine goes with?" audience participation feature a few years back. Sarnies - ppppuh.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Seeking Haydn. Clock this one, it may be a Surprise or even a Miracle, a Salomon and cucumber may be a cool London choice, but I'm not expecting a Drum Roll or a Military introduction.

I understand it's part of a campaign to raise funds for destitute unemployed piano tunas.

Still none the wiser (and not much better informed, either) I Googled "Classic FM, Sandwich" and found this:

Listen live to Classic FM online radio. Discover classical music and find out more about the best classical composers, musicians and their works.

I think that it's very generous of CFM to remind us in this way how much better (even now) R3 is. (Or, indeed, to give us a ... <ahem> ... taste of what R3 will be doing in three months' time. )

Is there or might there be a phrase "one truncated extract of a piece short of a Classic FM sandwich"?...

The Scottish version is Morningside Crescent but there they'd speak of sangwidges.
