    biscuits

    ... don't think we've had a thread on biscuits.

I used to be a devotee of your garibaldi and your ginger nut.

While pondering your fave biccie, you might like to contemplate what goes in to the icing of a serious biscuit -

      Choccie one sides.

      Yum.

can't beat a ginger nut for dunking, which is what I assume Vinnie was referring to.

I don't often buy biscuits, but when I do, yes, Gar-i-bal-di (let's ignore their schoolboy name) and fig rolls for me.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

          Grasmere Gingerbread.

Does that count? Or is that cake? Nothing compares with it.

Discover The Grasmere Gingerbread Shop tucked away at the corner of the churchyard of St. Oswald’s Church, Grasmere just North of Lake Windermere.

If it goes hard when it's stale, it's a cake - if it goes soggy when stale, it's a biscuit.

(A definition I heard made on a recent edition of The Food Programme.)

I'm famous among my friends for my life-long adoration for Garibaldi and Fig Rolls. But I will eat a whole packet of either or both together in 10 minutes, so I must limit myself how often I buy them.

It tastes too good ever to be able to test it in that way.

This is my relationship with all things biscuity - I cannot have them in the house!

Was it a dream or is it real?

Garibaldi biscuits covered in plain chocolate on one side. When ever I mention this, no-one knows what I'm on about.

I tried to get some a couple of years ago and it was impossible. Maybe it was all just a figment or figroll of my imagination.

All discontinued , though I don't remember them.

Easy enough to knock up in your kitcheh, I should think, and with your own choice of chocolate to boot.

( still trying to think of a politically correct response to your Kindle post.)

                            Even though I don't have the will-power to do the experiment, the website for Grasmere Gingerbread says;

                            "A unique, spicy-sweet cross between a biscuit and cake. . ."

Great idea, hadn't occurred to me
