Caly - I thought I might end up with amazon.fr since an account here is an account there and I often get books from there. On this occasion the one-click doesn't appear to have registered. Do I keep trying and end up with numerous boîtes à Camembert?
??? - just click 'Ajouter au panier' and complete the purchase in the normal way, non?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
By the way - has anyone used an Amazon drop-off point? There's one in the Coop but I don't know how it works.
They're brilliant! That is Amazon Locker you are referring to. You get a code to your mobile and email, tap it in, door opens and collect the parcel. About 4-5 days to collect. Only problem, this time of year, it might be "full" - oversubscribed , so won't accept an order for delivery there (but worth a try....)

Gratias, passer Londiniensis. I will wait. It's very boring that I'm the only one of the neighbours who's in when the post comes, so I take in their parcels, but they're never in to take in mine :-( .

Oui, présumablement I thought my one-click would work.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
As Cockney Sparrow has said the Amazon Lockers are very useful indeed. When I first used one I was very apprehensive, expecting it all to go wrong but it never has. Also next day delivery is only £1.99 (or at least it was). I use the one in the Co-op on Gloucester Road, where the bank of orange Amazon lockers at the back of the shop.
Cockney Sparrow is also right in saying that, at this time of year, the Amazon website can show the lockers being full and if that happens you can't opt for that mode of delivery. However, I have found that if you wait a few hours very often people will have collected their goods from the locker and it is available once again.

Thanks v much, johnb. I guess you use the lower Coop - our lockers are in the front. I now feel fully confident about using them.

I got an all earthenware one in TK Max a few years ago. it works very well. Pad the butter into one half, then pour water into the other, close them together and keeps the butter fresh for ages.
