Calling all Francophile gourmands er... gourmets

Some entrepreneurial French folk have turned a dowdy 'supermarket' at the end of my road into a tempting French food shop and have set up an online ordering service for French foods of all kinds.

Shop your favorite European groceries online EuropaFoodXB! Enjoy a wide selection of authentic European food, from French cheese to Italian pasta. Order now for fast UK delivery!

Those craving a little je ne sais quoi to keep them going until their next trip south of the Channel should give it serious consideration
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Hmm, do I see a Petit Munster? :-)
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

And perfect for those wanting a Euronibble to sustain them for a trip to the Proms.

Good to see that the north is catching up though...we had a carrefour in Eastleigh back in the mid 70's.....

SHE was only there on doctor’s orders, and it was only meant to be for six months. But 40 years on and thousands of customers later, Brenda Lyons…

              y'learn something every day.

I had NO idea that TUC crackers were french.

They seem just a little more exotic now......

My favourite French restaurants are on Mont St Michel and at Sauverterre-de-Bearne in SW France.

In fact they are my favourite restaurants anywhere.

On topic, many thanks for the pointer, Cali.

... have to say - looking at the website - that the cheeses on offer at Caliban's place aren't pertick'ly alluring - not, fr'instance, when compared to la Fromagerie in Marylebone...

Buy individual cheeses, or mix and match to create your own cheeseboard.

I would readily concede that the local concentrates on the more familiar French name brands, rather than the more haut-falootin' connoisseur market

That's a great selection. However, I have a naughty confession to make. On my last visit to France, I sat on the balcony eating a baton of French wholemeal bread with real Hawes Wensleydale cheese - the perfect combination.

... well, if you ca'n't get to la Fromagerie - Waitrose does a quite respectable morbier...
