I checked out the Bryant and May but it's further east, however, I have made a small break I believe.

I've identified at four gold tops as St.Sepulchre-without-Newgate which rests diagonally across from the Old Bailey. The adorments are small standards topping off the tower in gold.

Oh,I've just discovered it is designated as the National Musicians Church:

Still totally baffled by the spires to the left of the X.

Oh, if only we can find them then I can get my life back again!!

I thought we had a thread about London architecture, but I can't find it ........ anyway .....

apparently the designer of the 'Gherkin' now says it is irresponsible to build using so much glass and he wouldn't design that building the same way now. He says too much energy is wasted heating up and cooling down the interiors of glass buildings. Not surprisingly the glass trade association disagrees. A radio 4 programme this afternoon looks at windows.

An architect behind London's "Gherkin" skyscraper has turned against glass. Is it time for tall towers to be be made of something else?

Tom Dyckhoff discovers that few things show our social status as clearly as windows.
