In France, on the way to Lanslebourg, there is a furniture maker who advertises his studio at the road side as 'Le Bois s'Amuse'.

I find he has a web site: http://www.leboissamuse.fr/index.html

Here's one hot from the press, which I thought amusing today. I couldn't take a photo under the circumstances, but the notice on the counter of a well-known Chinese buffet in Eastbourne reads as follows. (Did they perhaps realise the likely reaction?)

There will be a minimum charge of £10 for all credit card payments

          Thank you for your gesture

According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

                      Hello all

Many years ago - I do wish I'd been able to keep it as a cutting! - "The Birmingham Post and Mail" had a reassuring item about SVD, Swine Vesicular Disease, a rather dreadful affliction: "SVD can only be caught by pogs."

                      Regards Ant

Wonderful stuff from saly at #52 above! I'd forgotten that! But not forgotten saly...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I havent got a photo and dont remember where I found this, but outside the village of Iver in Bucks. is a sign saying "Iver 1", which was once amended to "Iver big 1".

A van drove past our house last week, it belonged to a tree surgeon. On the side was the name of the firm - The tree fella.
                              Best regards,
                              Jonathan
