I think the absurdity of London property prices is neatly illustrated by this:-

I know where I would prefer to spend my money!!

      As Alan Partridge said:-

Go to London. I guarantee you'll either be mugged or not appreciated. Catch the train to London, stopping at Rejection, Disappointment, Backstabbing Central and Shattered Dreams Parkway.
Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.

It'll look as though ready to be ripped apart that much more when Wales and "Northern Ireland" leave.

                        Even in Tower Hamlets?
"Living wage" is not the same as "minimum wage", which as you correctly said is £6.31 per hour throughout the UK - no London weighting. Working 37.5 hours per week, minimum wage for a year is £12304.50. A single person over 25, no children, not disabled, earning this would also be entitled to approx £304 pa (tax free) Working Tax Credit.
