      It is magnificent, but how do people afford to live in London?

        Apart from property and renting, prices are much the same as everywhere; so if you bought at the right time and, like me, are now retired, it's OK.

          Unless you were born rich, or on benefits, work hard is how.

                Transport is the killer. The revenue take for the trains and the bosses is probably the highest it has ever been, but each year another fare hike is imposed on us.

                As for property, the inflation is simply shocking, and I say that as one who has benefitted having been able to clear my mortgage this week; and their projection a new boom in prices to come over the next five years.

                  What's the percentage of working people on housing benefit in London now?

                      When Scotland leaves the Union, what will the Union Jack look like?

                        £600 a month for a room in a shared flat in an ex local authority tower block. Baron's court, plus bills, council tax etc.

                            1) The flag in the photo is upside down.

                            2) The flag is only (supposed to be) called the "Union Jack" when it's on a ship. On dry land, it's (supposed to be) called the "Union Flag".

                              A pedant corrects himself;

                              The flag in the photo is the wrong way round.
