        The Andrex Seven

Brunhilde, Hansel, Tristan, Gretel, Zemir, Azor, Isolde

Only seven of a litter of eight. Siegfried had already departed with the breeders in payment of the stud fees when this photograph was taken.

That's the problem with Wagner - it's all the same!

Yes, also the poor thing looks as if he was about to slither through.... looks a rather wrigglesome customer!

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Tristan de Bergerie - my favourite of the pups.

Hannah Stilley, born 1746, photographed in 1840. More than likely the earliest born individual captured on a photo.

This is an old photo in the sense that your could never take another one like it. Suffolk 1951.

It used to be said that a field of stooked oats like that should hear three lots of church bells before being taken to the rick. I can also add that stooking was hard work, especially on a hot afternoon!

There were two fields of stooks in Pewsey Vale adjacent the Chirton Urchfont road just two weeks ago. A local farmer is growing the old-fashioned long stemmed wheat (?) for thatching and treated it traditionally.

The often mist shrouded Vale is an extent of lower lying ground separating the chalk downs of Salisbury Plain to the south from the Marlborough Downs to the north.

What lovely images of the Vale of Pewsey. I was there briefly in the summer of 1975...truly memorable.
