Stanford said he was the most talented of his pupils.
That's quite something when you consider he taught Holst,Coleridge Taylor and RVW amongst others
Died so young,I wonder what he might have left us otherwise.

Well, lets deal with the fellow in the sombrero and droopy moustache. Romanian!! Yes, Ivanovici was Romanian and he certainly wrote one of the best-known waltzes. But so did this chap.
The waltz is Sobre las Olas (Over the Waves) and he does seem to have orchestrated it himself, too (not always to be guaranteed). His name was Juventino Rosas.
