                          Ah! OK. the person sat in what would be the leader's seat is Steven Shingles principal viola of the LSO. That should do it! Kingsway December 1967.

                            The piece that came to mind immediately was Brahms's 2nd Serenade. Then I saw your comment on no. 90 that there are no brass.
