    Romantic Music!

Wot, no suggestions for Romantic music for today!! What music would you give/play to the object of your affections to win their favour [nothing smutty please, like the overture to Rosenkavalier or that bit of the Sinfonia Domestica!]. And NO Liebestods either.

Are there any known Valentine's Day pieces written specifically, eg Robert to Clara?

Roses from the South to Mr Salmond perhaps! Not that I fancy him you understand!!

this is a special tune at TS towers.....

"I'll meet you by the third Pyramid". What could be more romantic than that?
that, and Temptation by New Order.

            Happy days.!!

                Great opener, Gordon!!

                An obvious but timeless choice:

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

That is MrsG's most hated song in the whole world.

How strange! Was she woo'd to excess by MrGG deploying it?

This question (or something similar) appeared on Does the Team Think? on R4 many years ago and Ted Ray came up with the classic line:

                            'Carmen, then I'd get Bizet'

"The sound is the handwriting of the conductor" - Bernard Haitink
