I'll put up a link to video if I find one on the morrow.

    Night all!
Diego Matheuz is an Abbado protégé via El Sistema. Abbado chose him as Principal Guest Conductor of Orchestra Mozart in 2010 and Matheuz conducted them in London at the end of last year. I was impressed by their performance of Beethoven symphony no.3 and by their accompaniment of Pires in Beethoven piano concerto no.3.

There is also a live Mahler 3 from Abbado and the Concertgebouw given on June 9 1978 and available on the newly revamped Dutch Radio 4 website.

I have just caught up with the Audite release of live Abbado Lucerne performances of Schubert's Unfinished , Beethoven 2 and Wagner's Siegfried Idyll .

Despite an odd booklet note which bizarrely runs down the glorious performance of the Unfinished for not being HIPP enough , this is a treasurable record . Indeed , all three performances are wonderful and head straight to the top table in my collection . The Unfinished even tops the wonderful COE account and is so beautiful that it takes one's breath away , the Beethoven is just as fine and the Siegfried Idyll I suspect is the best performance I have ever heard even topping Uncle Bernie's account .
