I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has preserved any of Abbado's LSO concerts during his tenure.

A remarkably apposite and staggeringly generous tribute from the BPO's Digital Concert Hall - all the Abbado/BPO concerts are available to watch free.

        Not time limit is mentioned.

I'm happy to remove my post but could I suggest that you copy the direct DCH link in mine into Karafan's post please?

Lovely and moving rendition this evening of the funeral march from the Eroica by the La Scala orchestra, conducted by Daniel Barenboim on stage at the theatre: auditorium empty, doors open, a large crowd outside. As has been done for all their MDs since Toscanini I believe.

Just as a matter of interest, did Abbado conduct much British music? Doesn't seem to be any Britten, Vaughan Williams, Elgar - or even Holst's Planets, in his discography at any rate. Seems a bit strange for someone who was conductor of the LSO for so long.

He did conduct the Elgar Cello Concerto at the opening of the Barbican in March 1982 but, alas, I think that was it.

I believe it's visible to those outside Italy.

I saw him conduct a lovely performance Of Britten's serenade for Tenor, horn ect with the Berlin Phil. in Cologne a few years ago. It was televised here in Germany at a later date, so I have a momento of the concert.
