    When I'm 64

When I get older losing my hair
    Many years from now
Will you still be sending me a valentine
    Birthday greetings, bottle of wine?

If I'd been out till quarter to three
    Would you lock the door?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
    When I'm sixty-four?

    You'll be older too
And if you say the word
    I could stay with you

I could be handy mending a fuse
    When your lights have gone
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings, go for a ride

Doing the garden, digging the weeds
    Who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
    When I'm sixty-four?

Every summer we can rent a cottage on the
Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear
    We shall scrimp and save
    Grandchildren on your knee
    Vera, Chuck, and Dave

Send me a postcard, drop me a line
    Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
    Yours sincerely, wasting away

Give me your answer, fill in a form
    Mine forever more
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
    When I'm sixty-four?

    It's tomorrow.

        Many Happy Returns, Alpie.

It'll be me in fifteen months - not that that will make you (or me) feel any better.

There've been good times. Not so long since they were above Man CIty.

            Many happy returns.

(I'm going to have to travel fast, very very fast, to get to 64.)

Many happy returns, EA. Put your feet up and listen to the RPO/Kempe Alpensinfonie, glass of wine in hand. After the New Year's Day Concert of course

I'll be 60 in June and rather surprised I've managed to get this far.

EA, it might be of some comfort for you to know that Eine Alpensinfonie is Richard Strauss' opus 64

64 is not what it was in '67. We'd have been old men then.

                        Not any more, it's not!

Many Happy Returns, Alpie: I hear that the Isle of Wight is particularly pleasant during the Summer!

Many healthy and happy returns from me alpen. Having passed this milestone a year ago I can confirm it's not that bad, you're the same as you were the day before. I always thought that was a very silly song
