If she's the Gloria I'm thinking of, she's an ex-Chelsea supporter.

I really don't understand this thread!
          Aren't we now doing 'associations'?

Well, if we are now doing associations, that's got nothing whatsoever to do with the title of the thread, which could be seen as quite appropriate if you think about it.
(The only Gloria I know is an admirer of fragrant chemical compounds).

For me, the idea is to come up with something which appears in the first instance to be "consequent", but is in fact not really so.

Did anybody seriously think that MPs would comply with the provisions of the Fixed-Term Parliament Act if they proved inconvenient?

They are showing they are not turkeys as the vote for Christmas!

"Is Jack still a fruit if he's a Swede?"

Frances, the supermarket checkout lady, paused a moment, a faint smile as she raised her water bottle to her lips and put it down. The correct answer.

Over on the Goodreads Amazon Exiles Forum, we have a thread called 'Complete Bo..ocks, Talk Tripe, No Music Allowed' which is similar to this one. My friend collects 'over-heards' from the streets of Glasgow. Her latest was this:
                            Overheard in Glasgow :

                            At the hairdresser's -
Elderly lady laden with shopping bags enters
                            EL:
"There's a strong smell of lentil soup out there"
                            Haridresser:
"I love the smell of lentil soup"
                            EL:
                            "Yes, in moderation."

Noticing her typo I was quite pleased with myself for coming up with this:
"Do all Hari's styles go in one direction?"

News of Prince Philip's trip to hospital, possibly by helicopter, reminds me of the ultimate sensational headline, which goes something like:
'Unfrocked bishop in midnight mercy taxi dash to Palace'.
