    Seems a tad lenient,Conditional discharge then ?!

Incidentally legal point, am I right in saying that an unconditional discharge is actually effectively "guilty, but no punishment?"

      I believe so.

I accuse Rick Wakeman of vandalism for his treatment of Brahms' 4th in Cans and Brahms on the album Fragile. Although I thought it OK as a teenager, I can no longer listen to the 3rd movement without hearing this version in my mind.

I insist on the maximum punishment of a weekly haircut!

      Pacta sunt servanda !!!

Do any of those prog/classical things sound good these days ?
ELP sound ragged and badly played to me now (as mentioned on the Christmas dirge thread)

Tomita for unspeakable sonic acts to Debussy, Ravel, well .... unspeakable sonic acts full stop.

Punishment: lock him up in anechoic pyramid to be suspended above a live volcano (so the snowflakes can't dance)

Alone together, as in? Possibly - though maybe not quite! A view that I most certainly do not share (and I'm not a Christian, let alone a Catholic)...

You think that was bad - try this for size.

The only fitting punishment can be forced to listen to Radio 3 Breakfast for eternity.

I'm thinking of a favourite song and poem: Barber's Hermit Songs, The Monk and his Cat:

                              Pangur, white Pangur,
                              How happy we are
                              Alone together,
                              Scholar and cat.

[PS Ah, Google tells me there is a possibly better-known lyric in that obscure genre 'Popular Music', featuring these same two words. I'll stick with the original, c9th century Irish version, trans. Auden...]

Rick Wakeman's punishments are easy.....banished from the court of Henry 8th...or sent to the centre of the earth.
