Deep, deep sorrow that Arcades/John Skelton will no longer grace these boards with his calm, considered and wise comments. Many thanks, Simon (I didn't know you by your real or other noms de web) and RIP.

I've been looking through my emails and have over 600 from Simon, dating from 2004 (there were some earlier ones but a computer crash in the days when I knew nothing about ... ). Anyway, I thought that I might have time to go through the early ones over Christmas and edit the bits that refer to his writings, poetry, finding publishers &c. together with some of the things he sent me and what he said about them. If anyone's interested (and if I manage to do it), I'll send them a copy ...
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Is it possible to find the individual posts he made on the board, too?

He was no longer a member under his various aliases here, so a search only reveals whole threads he may have posted on and some of them are very long indeed.

Not really, if people ask to have their account deleted, it deletes from the database the information that links their ID to their posts.
