Hi saly. I must add my best wishes to all the others'. We all hope to hear from you soon.

OT, but for a "late spring" BH (whatever happened to Whitsun? ) the weather here is more like late autumn. Raining this morning - though not the torrents that Anna and others have had - and perishing cold all day.

      Dear saly,

Adding good wishes from Newport where the garden is finally perking up after a long, cold, wet spring. I hope you are feeling better.

I think someone would have posted any news, had there been any. Coping with the computer may be proving more of a problem than expected.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I received word from AMS that salymap is having difficulty in seeing her computer screen but has received help from one of her carers to send the occasional message.

Her neice Jenny has kept us informed but she is away at the moment, (as is AMS51)

A relief to receive this news. You cannot & must not rush people who are unwell. I am at present in a position to confirm this & can sympathise only too well with salymap. I'm sure she will do all possible to regain her strength - it just takes time, nature can often be oh so slow & one wonders if & when we'll spend more time upright than horizontal ! I'm sure salymap will be sharing my irritation with the slow process we require in order to be fully repaired. A car can be ' fixed ' in a fraction of the time! Anyway, if willing her to be well can help & others feel as I do, it shouldn't be too long now! Saly, I'm on a liquid substance known as ' Ensure Plus ' feed, the chocolate version is quite delicious - other flavours are horrible ( I think ). This is a substitute meal for people like me who cannot face normal food & am losing weight. You'll get it on prescription - too expensive to buy. Have had to replace my old computer, old one has given up. Now have one enabling me to obtain Windows 8.1 I couldn't fully understand the old one - this new one is completely beyond my comprehension & will surely result in me requiring another form of medical attention !

That's all for now saly, just remember you're much younger than me & are expected to keep going quite a while yet,

Love from myself & so many others - too numerous to count or name !!

Or (for some of us) just too darn LONG to type!

Lovely post, gamba - best wishes to sals and to you, too.

From me too - sorry to hear that salymap still struggling with her screen but hope she is otherwise OK . I wonder if anyone she knows can help with the accessibility settings . I am sure I am not the only one who would love to see a post from her again .

I have a message from Salymap. She asked me to say that she wants in particular to send her love and her very best wishes to gamba and thank him for his lovely message and to also send thanks and greetings to all her who’ve enquired after her.

Progress is indeed slow but this morning her carer managed to boot up the laptop so she has today been able to read the messageboard (and, she said, the AWOL thread! ) so has seen all the messages, although for the moment she is unable to type a reply unaided. She has a hospital appointment tomorrow and soon has SpecSavers coming to the house for hearing tests plus an opticians appointment to hopefully sort out her eyesight which will make things easier.
