Nice idea - not sure just when she's being moved, so will hold off the present for the moment.

I’m sorry to hear that you are still in hospital. At least you are not missing anything weather-wise. It’s wet, cold and dark in Kent (as usual). All my Bramley apples are on the ground now, as I imagine yours too. I see they are 28 pence EACH in Sainsbury’s. Our birds have rich pickings indeed.

Get well soon. I miss your posts.

saly was anxious in case her friends on the forum had missed her (they had! - the spies were already out scouting around the Kent countryside looking for news).

Any road - get well soon, saly. Hope your typing finger is in good shape.
I've been away forum the forum for a bit and am sorry to hear about saly's fall. Sending my very best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Be great I think to send Saly an e-card? With a suitable theme?

It would have to be sent via French Frank, and this is a busy time of year, mind.

I'm sure that Bbm was just seeking some sense of approval before he put in the hard yards of choosing one, S_A

I've been advised that messages left here are picked up by salymap's own elves & they're printed out for her to read. She's just lying back on cushions while other elves peel grapes for her

The latest bulletin: There's no talk of saly moving from where she is at present. She has had some good days and has been reported as enjoying her food! However, she is currently being treated for a chest infection.

                  More as and when...

(I think my daube à l'avignonnaise - as per The Refreshment Room - would have been strong competition for the NHS grub, saly, though I do say it meself as shouldn't. Bit complicated to bring a helping but I can send the 'orstipal the recipe if required ...)

Further to my last - she expressed her pleasure that Pabs had reported in safe and sound!

How ungallant, Rob! We all think of sal's lists with great affection. I wonder which eight (no more no fewer) are Forumites' favourites?

                            Best Wishes, sals.

I can see her now, notepad in hand, goading the other denizens of Ward X to come up with new lists. " 'Favourite opera written on a Thursday, no more than eight' is a bit esoteric but thank you anyway Eric"

How about eight short-ish pieces you would like to send to salymap? Here is (one of) my list.

                                Monteverdi: Zefiro torna
                                D. Scarlatti: more or less anything as long as it is on the harpsichord
Rameau : Rossignols amoureux from Hippolyte et Aricie
Vivaldi: Mandolin Concerto (a nice little entertainment)
                                Bach: Coffee Cantata
Haendel : something from Cantates sacrées – by Emma Kirby and London Baroque
Kapsberger Works for Lute & Chitarrone: any one or two
                                Buxtehude: one of trio sonatas

Not the sort of work salymap usually listens to, so it will be a good opportunity to fill in a long afternoon.
