It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Thanks for update, please keep us informed. Poor saly, obviously a bit more complicated than we first thought but hopefully she'll be back on her feet and home in a few weeks. I'm sure you have said to your informant said that she is continually in our thoughts (as, referencing the other thread, also is Pabmusic)

Yes indeed. It would be good to send saly a bunch of flowers, or a bottle of something. Is there any way, while respecting anonymity, that the wit and intelligence of board members could bring this about?

I understand that, like many hospitals now, they don't allow flowers. I'll see what can be arranged.

Perhaps an Interflora gift token - she will have the card in hospital and I'm sure her cousin would buy something for her when she arrived back home. £25? Does that buy anything worthwhile these days? £30?

I would say £25 is enough? I don't know how other forumites would feel?

I think the best thing we could do as her fellow MB members is to keep this thread going. We could post amusing little tales, anecdotes, jokes etc. as if we were visiting and talking to her. A kind of sub-thread of Stormy Weather?
