SIS may not be mixing 2014 proms for us

Looks as if SIS are out of the OB business, and that includes the super sound vehicle they used for the Proms:

I hope this does not mean another learning cycle before the proms transmissions sound good again.

I read a brief item about this in Private Eye. Until this year at the Proms I noticed a number of older ex BBC cameramen and sound engineers who had stayed on with SIS, but now they seem to have retired. I have not been impressed with the sound quality during the last few seasons, although I must confess that I don't listen to many concerts as I prefer to be in the hall. The original BBC team had accumulated many years of experience in producing good results in this difficult venue, who knows what will happen now ?
