"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

What's odd, is that MrGG's list nearly contained some music

What isn't odd, is that maybe only one person has stuck to the rubric Par for the course in here - it's like herding cats!

I forgot Brahms! I don't listen to much Dvorak, either or many of Liszt's works? Much as I do like them. Schumann, I am gradually liking his orchestral music, through JEG's cycle, especially that tour de force performance of Overture, Scherzo and Finale! Goodness! Mozart a definite no no still, except for a very works, and done by particular people.

As I may, or indeed may not, have the privilege of being appointed bean counter .....it would seem from the OP's own post that Bach and Beethoven are not the Bible and Willie S of this DID...so rules is, as much as they ever are, rules

                          Bach J S

                            certainly it is.

Though according to my lists i would rather have XTCs works than Mozart's. Hmmmm

More like Swindon 1 Vienna 2....

It was a partnership of equals.

Or, " I don't know", as some people put it.

They reused that concept in "Earn enough for us", in time honoured tradition. If its good enough for JSB.....

                                Beethoven
                                Elgar
                                Mozart
                                Puccini
                                Strauss, R.
                                Tchaikovsky
                                Vaughan Williams
                                Wagner

If I could only choose one, it would be Elgar.
