Can't believe I left out Sibelius...

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

anyway , Like the idea of
      a) todays list
b). allowing Bach and Beethoven as given.
personally, I would allow Brahms as a Given, so that LVB could have the weekends off, but thats just me.

Now, who wrote "Sailing", I wonder..............

                      JS Bach
                      Schubert
                      Wagner
                      Verdi
                      Sibelius
                      Stravinsky
                      Shostakovich
                      Messiaen

There's a rather surprising absence of Mozart from these lists?

To save me actually thinking about it, this is the list in order of number of CDs in my collection:

                        Bach
                        Beethoven
                        Schubert
                        Mozart
                        Wagner
                        Haydn
                        Brahms
                        Schumann

Rather predictable, Lieder-biassed and Teutonic and it might change if I pondered a while but I would be reluctant to lose any of those.
