    The PEPSI legacy

i see that Robbie Williams, pop singer [39] is miffed because R1 DJ Grimshaw says he is not relevant to the 15 year olds that are his target audience .... they are all at it ... the demographic that is .... it is Davie's legacy to bbc radio .... and no doubt the targets that are defeating us listeners in exasperation with the cr*p that R3 broadcasts are demographics ... we are too old too educated too knowledgeable for the BBC .... and certainly R3 and the Fat Controller

with Thompson gone the days of those more equal may be over but the marketing mind of Davie may well prove a more toxic inheritance from those years than the big bucks and shenanigans .... it will take decades, if at all, for the organisation to return to its mission in other than demographic terms, it may well be doomed ....

i would be loath to add up the total budget of all the food, garden and house stuff programming .... ideal for the market i would have thought since we are not trying to survive in wartime; the pubic service might pay rather more attention to science, culture and the humanities and help the young demographic pass a few exams eh .... never mind the rest of us and our passions for it all ...

Oh, but Tim was a broadcast manager with a clear and selfless vision for the future of the BBC, passionate about music:

BBC director of audio and music breaks silence about 6 Music decision with argument for doing 'fewer things better'. By John Plunkett
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Tim Davie's monetisation programme forms the foundation for the announced 'BBC Store', but it looks like it might just be for TV at the moment.

Radio and TV are full of presenters and DJs FAINING interest in things they really do not have interest in and in demographics they do not really care about.... .....their interest is really in themselves and longevity of their careers, hair, image, fashion....

Let's cut to the chase... Why don't we just axe ALL the BBC's services and divvie up the licence fee amongst senior management? Isn't that what's going to happen anyway?
