And that is why I gave up shaving when I turned forty!

To celebrate my mid-life crisis it was a choice between growing a beard or buying a sports car. The beard was cheaper.

I’d like to get a scent-free aftershave. Can someone (men, women or anyone anywhere on that continuum) make a recommendation?

You see after shaving, I use an alum block and then aftershave. I enjoy the astringent qualities of aftershave, but I’d prefer to use a scented cologne, later.

      Nothing too expensive please.

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I knew I’d get a good steer on here, rather than going one of those shaving forums!

... I think you will find industrial alcohol works perfectly well : if you are a real cheapskate you could use meths - some quite like the smell.

Haven't used after-shave since I was sixteen. Can't abide men who use scents.

A google search revealed https://www.amazon.co.uk/Aveeno-Afte.../dp/B00B6A8K78, but it is a little alarming that two of the three 'also searched for' items at the top of the page it brought up (not visible in this link, unfortunately) are available in both new and used varieties!

... and some quite like to drink it, though it makes you go blind you know! [don't try this at home, or anywhere else ....]

I was wondering when and how this thread would re-emerge.

Moving back to disposable cartridges for a change.

A few starter deals out there. I've got trials with the $Dollar Shave Club, Harry's, Cornerstone and Shavekit.

Anyone used any of these? Or the Bic Shave Club etc?

                      Yeah, true Bryn.

                      Who needs a nose, anyway?
