... (though I heard Feldman getting a spin on Essential Classics the other day. Hurrah !!)
I may have missed that. What was spun, and who spun it?
[Ah, the snatch from Piano and String Quartet chosen by Jango Bates, eh. Must say I much prefer the Smith Quartet (with John Tilbury) to the Kronos (Aki Takahashi's contribution notwithstanding). The Smiths' inspired use of baroque bows to help keep the dynamics low makes all the difference.]

Reason: Update.
My ten, in alphabetical order - it's not easy to get the list down to 10. So no Beethoven, Bruch (1 and 2), Barber, Bartók, Dvorak, William Schuman, Korngold... Anyway, here goes:
Bach E major
Berg
Bernstein (Serenade)
Brahms
Delius
Elgar
Hindemith
Janacek (Pilgrimage of the Soul)
Mendelssohn (E minor)
Szymanowski 1
Haven't heared enough violin concertos to make it to a list of ten as of yet, but: Barbar, Elgar, Rubbra, Beethoven, Mendelssohn - and of course, Dyson, as stated in some older posts of mine.
The rather enthusiastic support for Szymanovski and Schoenberg is noted, will listen to both of them, though when it comes to Schoenberg it seems like I will have to buy the Hahn recording (while I can get Szymanovski for free )
Hmmm doing a list of 10 would mean I'd have to go back and do an awful lot of relistening Even so, I would really want to find room for Heinz Holliger's violin concerto. I like JLW's list but I think I'd rate Holliger's concerto above Saariaho's or Rihm's (or the Schumann arrangement).
