I want no part of this, so I have decided to stand aside from posting any views or comments on any of the subjects under discussion.

Hornspieler, I have always appreciated your input, both on this forum, and the original Radio 3 one, and I shall be very sad if you carry out your threat to depart.

The thing is, I too, find some of the comments made to be offensive, but I take the view that it needs the decent posters to offset such input. Apart from this forum, I belong to one other, which is the subject of much vitriol and nastiness, but rightly, or wrongly, I like to believe that the decent posters far outnumber the rotten ones.

For myself, if I am unable to contribute to a debate without being vindictive in any way, then I don't bother. My guiding principle is that the world might be a better place for any views I put forward, and if it doesn't become so - well, I will have failed in that intention. These boards need all the decent people - so stay with us.

I echo the comments of other posters. I have always enjoyed your posts. But also like you have been surprised at the lack of activity on musical postings. I assumed this has been due to summer holidays.

The recent comments on other threads are interesting. Not of interest to me, as a gay man, I am appalled at the current state in Russia, but am not surprised. And the comments of a few posters are to me not worth comment.

if there is a lack of discussion about music on this board, (and I'm not really sure there is compared to usual), its possibly in part because people are away, ( EG Gongers, Edgeleyrob) or have moved away temporarily because they perhaps feel uncomfortable with things that have gone on. I won't mention names, but there are some knowledgeable contributors who fall into that bracket.

I don't understand why if , like HS, people don't like the stuff on Platform 3, they don't just stick to music threads.Seems an easy solution to me.
Specialist boards IMO are healthier for an area dedicated to areas of general interest.
The music sections are often the best part of Football boards !!
