"Biggest game of year. Grey haired tactician v Former player for the club. I mean of course Fulham v Bolton."
and there is that fourth in a series of five encounters between Ronaldo and Messi live on ITV tonight ...

turning out to be a bit of a classic end of season .... [but not for Stockport or Barnet eh]

I thought the biggest game of the year was yet come - West Brom and Villa on Saturday. My prediction - 2-1 to the Baggies.

Tonight's game was dreadful ... yet, Messi's second goal must rank as one of the greatest ever witnessed ... a rare footballing genius, without a doubt.

Two terrific goals by Lionel M!!

So much petulant cynicsm from both sides, desperately negative dull match, and THEN! Pure genius, simple, inevitable solutions, not a lucky blast, but, as all great goals actually are, the result of intuitive responses to a problem, made with supreme confidence in one's ability.

Fulham did not do too badly at all ...
el classico was dreadful except for Messi; Ronaldo was a nonentity for most of the game except for shooting into the wall or the crowd from free kicks

West Brom 2, Aston Villa 1. I should be on Match of the Day!

yep but curtains for many clubs today ...er Stockport and Barnet are out of the league and Blades, Scunthorpe and Preston all relegated ...

but Fulham got three unanswered in an away game!

It is typical that Arsenal get a result just when it doesn't matter to them. There's a confidence problem there.

Would I be right in saying that the top five clubs are likely to be the five wealthiest? How does the pattern pan out across the twenty?

I would sorry to see the death of a great voice - Whispering Ted Lowe. 90, though, was a good break.

And the 'Pool march on! Practically the same players as for Hodgson, Carroll has had almost more time in the treatment room or on the bench than on the field, so it's an even more remarkable awakening. The whole thing on the field could not be more different.
