Alison, I've seriously thought that we should have moved to a new stadium - even sharing it with the Blunts - no I would not share Bramall Lane - but a new stadium. I can't think that over the last few years of Owls austerity that the Hillsborough name has helped to lure a buyer but thanks to the Mandaric catalyst and then the real money now we hopefully are following the Leicester pattern!
Meanwhile we look forward to next week's Tale of Two (small) Cities.

Brighton unbeaten so far this season,tough one to call.

For the Southern Sainty I just noticed this is the 30th anniversary of Matt Le Tissier scoring for the first time for Southampton in a 4-1 v Manyoo. This isn't it but it takes some beating. (sorry Beefy!)

I suppose if one is being picky it was a cup match but it was an interesting moment nonetheless. Also, I understand that Dennis Bergkamp's parents were fans of Law and named their son after him. However, Dutch authorities refused to recognise the name unless it was spelt with two n's as they felt it was otherwise too similar to the female name Denise.

Ah yes, very early that, and Rob is right to place me with York City from 1982 although the Arsenal were from my earlier decade. Good luck to you. But if Wenger ever has to go I want Martinez for Arsenal because the manner has to be Arsenal. Not many achieve it in my opinion although Robson was one who would have been right. We'll sort out the ability later. I hope we never go for bombast or Klopp/Van Gaal idiosyncrasy. I'm odd like that!

Yes, but to be fair if you are looking for footballing astonishment in Yorkshire it has to be Leeds and to a lesser extent my personal favourite of the so-called top flight from that county Sheffield Wednesday, whatever the argy-bargy over the years between them and Arsenal. I have stood there as a neutral and loved the atmosphere even when without roof and in pouring rain. Not that any of it matters because if I was ever to find a third club - "Premier" - on account of moving north, it would be Newcastle but I can't see it happening!
