Wonder if that was John Corrigan who invaded the pitch at Ibrox tonight waving a Buddies scarf?

The first-half has just ended. What an excellent game in front of 50,000 fans, with no little skill and two superb goals.

If this is going to be the standard of the Scottish Championship this season who needs the Celtic-dominated Premiership?

What a refreshingly positive advert for the much-maligned game north of the border!

No me PG, I haven't the legs to run anywhere these days. Also I long ago gave up being an away supporter v either of the Old Firm - not a pleasant experience really. Disappointed to lose but I think the result was better than I had feared; after all we got stuffed 5-0 by the Owls in a pre-season...a long season awaits and I do so with some trepidation.

Good luck to all the forum teams this coming season.

Not sure I'm up for the usual weekly mini match reports and round up this time around.

Might just be a basic results service.

I thought St Mirren played some nice stuff (a perfect pitch, mind you!) and I do hope they come straight back up. Even this early it is clear that Rangers have improved vastly under their new English manager.. The 'body language' revealed that even before a ball was kicked last night.

I agree with your comments about the Old Firm. Both sets of supporters are just as bad as each other. The old tribal bigotries are still very much alive and kicking, unfortunately, and I have some longstanding examples of that in my wider family!

The two sets of fans have one hell of a lot more in common with each other than their tiny brains seem to realise. It would be almost laughable it it weren't so damaging and insulting to 'the beautiful game'.

I have to say, P.G., that at the end of last season I feared the Saints would slip further down the divisions...it really wasn't pleasant. Rangers certainly seem to have a manager who has done everything that they have not done since they dropped through the trapdoor three or so years back...he's playing a high tempo game full of confidence from what I've seen so far.

Know what you mean. I had a couple of pals at school, who in most respects were excellent guys, but who, in the Art Class, refused to use blue in paintings, painting the sky a shade of green at all times. When I worked the pubs in Glasgow, Old Firm matchday was the one we dreaded most - no matter the score someone was unhappy and let you know about it.

I do enjoy your round ups Edgey but maybe wrong for us to expect the detail all the time.

Stockport Council now own the ground I see.

Thanks Alison - good start for your new boss - I like Ranieri. This morning's Indie had you finishing 20th in their predictions for the new season season - thought it was bonkers personally.

I was thinking the Racing Post's 19th was a shade ungenerous! We have kept on all the back room staff which was a wise move.

It's the same with Manchester City's stadium, owned by the city council.
