Final word on the weekend action.

Liverpool 1 Manchester United 2. Forum derby, crazy sending off, missed penalty, manyoo in control of 4th spot.
Hull City 2 Chelsea 3. From 2-0 up,pegged back before Remy's winner, title looking more and more likely.

Just catching up on latest threads after two weeks down under visiting family. (Managed to fit in very good Nazi-themed Tosca at Sydney Opera House as well as World Cup cricket at SCG). I gave a mild yelp of delight in the departure lounge in Abu Dhabi at Palace's win (safe now??) as we caught the football results during stopover there on Saturday night. Surprised how poor Liverpool were on the box yesterday.

welcome home gurnemanz ... Palace are indeed doing well .... despite the win there is something troubling about les bleus ... the Hull goals were give-aways but the three saves by Courtois were magnificent

            Midweek round up.

Nuneaton 2 Wrexham 0. Down to 15th but in no danger, one eye on the FA Trophy final.
Hemel Hempstead 3 Chelmsford 1. From 2-0 down scored just before the break, then conceded in the last minute, down to 11th and seemingly out of the play off picture.

            Today.

Peterborough 0 Coventry City 1. The winner came on 70 minutes, super win v the play off contenders,3 points clear of danger.
Hartlepool United 2 Cambridge United 1. Congratulations to HUFC,out of the relegation zone after a 4th straight win, amazing.
Tranmere Rovers 1 Wimbledon 1. Denied the win by a last minute equaliser for the hosts, 7 points off the play offs.
East Stirlingshire 1 Arbroath 0. Up to 5th after a great win v the team in 3rd place.
Macclesfield Town 0 Bristol Rovers 0. A decent point v the promotion rivals, now 3rd on goal difference, but just a point off top spot.
            Chelmsford 0 Havant & Waterlooville 1. Conceded on 24 minutes,remain in 11th after a disappointing 2 defeats in a week.
Hyde v Stockport County was abandoned with only 5 minutes left minutes to play after a torrential downpour flooded the
pitch,we were 1-0 up but down to 10 men, awaiting a ruling on whether the game will be replayed.
Truro City 0 Dunstable 0. Missed a big chance to close in on the leaders, remain 3rd but losing touch with the top 2.

Wrexham play North Ferriby in the FA Trophy final tomorrow.

Just watching Holland v Turkey on TV.
What on earth has happened to Dutch football, very poor showing and the fans starting to turn on the team.
Turkey are well organised and playing some good stuff tbf.

Thanks Robbo. Chelmsford's season has fallen apart

              Remarkable recovery Hartlepool.

Guess they'll be hanging around Div2 for another season. I reckon mid-table come May.

Another excellent result for Hartlepool, and possibly an astonishing escape from the drop. Wasn't someone on the forum also interested in York City results? They're also down the wrong end of Div 2 but now look safe after a big away win.

Where's johncorrigan? If Hartlepool can pull themselves back from half way down the cliff, then the Buddies can do it too.

Best result of the weekend for me was Wales' thrashing of Israel to go top of their Euro qualifying group. Bale seemed to leave his troubles behind in Madrid and really turned the power on for his country.

No mention of the England game?

They were terrific! Slaughtered those feared football giants, the Lithuanians!

Bit worried about Harry Kane. He was on for 79 seconds before he was able to get an attempt on target - perhaps he's all hype?

                          FA Trophy final.

North Ferriby United 3 Wrexham 3. AET.
                          NF won on penalties.

So the trophy will not be in the forum cabinet this year.
Feel sorry for Wrexham, well they are a forum team, but also can't help feeling pleased for North Ferriby.
A part time team winning a major honour, what a great day for them and their fans.
                          I wonder if Am51 was there ?

Gibraltar have actually scored a goal (against Scotland - the shame of it ). However, if the Scots carry on scoring, they could leapfrog Germany.

How did Liverpool get on? Playing Arsenal, weren't they? Or is it tomorrow?
