I wonder if in this day and age Celtic will sook on any of the straws that Legia are clinging to.
Legia Warsaw ask Celtic for a "meeting" to decide which side should progress to the Champions League play-off round.

Legia's letter with its plaintive cry to all the old Celtic Greats somehow reminded me of this great old clip.

Great start for the Owls but it will be a long hard season for us too - only need 50 points for safety now though!

Familiar story to start the season.... Not only have I stopped going to the home matches -played in Northampton - I now avoid listening to them on local Beeb.

All the decent players were sold (including distant family member Callum Wilson who scored twice for Bournemouth on Saturday...)

Some mathematician may be able to correct me on this, but I presume the minimum number of points to survive would be 6, if the three bottom clubs lost every game without scoring, except when they played one another and the 4th from bottom club, drawing these matches?

I'll rely on my calculation rather than over celebrate when we've got 6 points. ...or have you a secret desire to see the club I love relegated?

It isn't a secret. I've always had a soft spot for the Blades. Sorry -

A lot of my colleagues around here very sad to see the departure of Stevie May from St Johnstone to Sheff Wed, cloughie. If he plays anything like he did last season you've got yourself a really good buy,

There seems to be a buzz around his signing, but his debut is delayed by a suspension acquired at the end of last season. A goal or two against Derby on Saturday?

Thanks as ever ER for your round-up, and for giving franchise the smallest point size you can!

Not bothered about the result, I was at a pub quiz with some fellow members of my local choir, too bevvied up to be upset when someone showed me the result on their iPhone.

What is a pain is them drawing Man United at home in the next round. I guess it was always going to happen some day, but it rubs it in that it's as a direct result of beating us.

Still, Winkelman is supposedly showing his true colours by bragging about "the biggest tie in our history." Hmm, thought that was the 88 Cup final.

A typical Wrexham start, courageous away, craven at home

                                Thanks, ER.

Inverness' manager John Hughes is trying to get them to play tiki-taki football which mainly involves passing sideways or back. He wants them to become a sort of Barcelona-on-the-Ness, minus Messi, Iniesta, Xavi....It just ends up as tacky football, and fantastically dull to watch (sad as ICT actually have some good players). There'll be plenty more games this season where they don't score.

Still, it could be worse - it could be the Buddies (sorry, john c). How could they lose to Hamilton, who looked cast-iron certainties for relegation against ICT?

Quite a lot of goals going in at some grounds. There was a 6-6 somewhere recently, ruining a couple of managers' blood pressure. Inverness will be lucky to get 6 goals in as many games...
