East Stirlingshire supporter here. Lost heavily to a 10 man Montrose yesterday so nothing new there, then.

A long hard season ahead, Rob, except for our part-timer. Nice to have your fine coverage back. Hope the Buddies can provide a few wins in the weeks ahead.

If your team had a duff start, to cheer you up ,here is a reminder of the first day result in the season that the Saints were promoted from L1:

                  Southampton 0 Plymouth 1.

Welcome to one of the forum's more erudite threads OR (or Ocky, if I may ). ER provides a magnificent round-up service and there aren't many Man U fans so it all feels quite real

Great start by Wrexham, as ER says

Thank you for the welcome! The Shire website is blaming the 4-1 loss on 'windy conditions.'

Wen one considers that North Ferriby is a village on the banks of the Humber, with a population (including a significant surrounding area) of under 4000, it puts Stockport County's position into perspective. Nevertheless, one has to admire the tenacity of NFU over a long period of time.

                          Welcome , OR.

So, big question, how does one choose one's team in the smallest town in Britain with three league teams?

(Although is Stenhousemuir technically outside the town?)

My grandparents had season tickets back in the 50s/60s and I am following in their footsteps out of family loyalty, however misplaced......Yes, Stenhousemuir is technically not part of Falkirk though the Shire share a ground with them at Ochilview.
