Thanks Rob... a saunter in the park for the Buds...result never in doubt...come on over here, scotty...

Interesting at Easter Road yesterday - big Terry Butcher in the stand as he is now between clubs...the two that were on the park...taking on Hibs...must have a masochistic streak in him.

Loved Special One's defence of the extremely dodgy 'penalty' last night...but I think the southern saints may now have the new 'special one'.

Thanks Rob - missed that - must be a 1987 celebration game - ah that was a day!!!! ...by the way, is it at Hampden or Wemblers?

Actually you missed a board derby today - Sheff Wed beat Coventry 2-1 in the Sausage sandwich game on Danny Baker today - it was red sauce by the way.

Bad day for Wrexham as you say, Rob and the man sent off had scored four times in the last two games

...it's just that it doesn't often happen but when St Mirren and Coventry turn up in the same sentence then the 16th May 1987 has to come to mind, the day when the underdogs took the trophies on both sides of the border.

THE victory still holds special memories for the former Buddies star.. even though he was booed the last time he returned to Paisley.

Dreadful defending both sides, could be another 5-4 but who will win?

Always makes for an exciting game.
Didn't realise Carl Baker (ex Stockport)was captain of Coventry.
He was a good 'un for us.

Final score 3-3,that 94th minute Bradford penalty was a killer for the forum.
                        Great game though.

                        Also
St Mirren 2 Ross County 1.

Second week in a row opposition denied penalty when Big Jim G was the culprit - rival manager says he thinks refs have handed him immunity - have to say last week was a stonewaller - Ross County reduced to 9 men by the end - we've moved above Thistle now.

By the way, 'Elvis' is doing a grand job with Coventry since he took over.

what are you supposed to do. The England manager hands debuts to 2 of your players.
ITV cover the game. So you have to watch, although every bone in your body is screaming "don't bother , its an England friendly, do something else, anything else."

                            but you watch.......

anyway, lallana didn't come out of it too badly.

Oh, and if Leighton Baines comes up against some good attackers in the World cup. .....well it could happen.

Sorry john I wasn't aware St Mirren had their day same as Cov in '87. Our lad won a large framed signed photo of Houchen's goal at a 'do' at the Ricoh (yeah it's not our stadium now but there are still supporters' events held there!)

He certainly is doing well. He inherited the good players but he sure has brought them along! The Bradford boss apparently was very impolite to Elvis yesterday when the whistle went. Elvis said he 'wouldn't repeat what was said as the Bradford boss would get in serious trouble'. 'What he said will stay with me.....'

It's funny how you develop a soft spot for a team, John - Coventry is ever one because of that day in May. Thing I like about Pressley is that he always seems like a pretty decent guy - he was a good honest player who made the most of what he had.
