Well he did ask the board for 'clarification' over the rumours and that apparently never came, John. I suppose in his heart-of-hearts he must have known that the eerie silence by the board over his future really meant the sack.

Yes, I never used to miss Stanley Baxter on TV ... one of the truly great impersonators.

May be a good one there - had he hopes of the Red side of Manchester? One the eye for Abramovitch? Likes the Prem and could actually make City a team - a space to watch, could cock a snook a two there!

BHA looked short of the standard, BBM, to be honest. They will get there soon enough if they keep faith with the manager and just improve the squad a bit. They are strong, good support and a great stadium. The olympic stadium in Rome wasn't built in a day.....
The injury to CMS was a big blow I guess.

More ex Stockport players in the Palace squad than the Brighton one,so no surprise really.

yep and only Soton deserved it on recent form; the gossip about Poyet taking over from Jol signala a development that would be most welcome i think ...Fulham have had a bad season under Jol ..

Wigan have been under threat of relegation so often that they had to go on chance alone at one season's end, looks like the injuries sank them and their mojo ran out ..

les bleus face a rather fine Benfica tonight, i have a glum anticipation of this match because i do not rate Rafa at all and think he has under-performed what Di Matteo would have achieved ..

                      come on Watford!

I quite like the idea of Arsenal winning 2-1 and Chelsea drawing 0-0 thereby forcing a 3rd play play-off.

                            good spot, EA !!

Re BBM's remarks, when visiting Brighton on football business, we have always found the local police distinctly unwelcoming.

[Rising pettily to the bait] Even if we lose to Watford we will still have the considerable consolation of knowing that we beat you at your own ground against all expectations and thwarted your Premiership ambitions.... Eeeaagglles!

Well it didn't take much did it.......

I wish Palace well in the final(best half time entertainment in England bar none !), but I have to say that I expect BHA to be in the PL within 2 or 3 years as well.
