Strange thing about Mancini's demeanour - doesn't seem to be that bothered whether he stays with Man City or not. Maybe goes with the territory and style of the top European clubs..
Yes, the Wigan players were hungrier for the ball and looked like they were actually enjoying themselves, seemingly devoid of any 'big occasion' nerves..

One commentator mentioned that nobody at City ever looks happy these days. That has often struck me too. It could be that not only Mancini is bothered whether he stays or not but many of the players as well.

For United fans, surely the perfect backdrop for Fergie's big farewell this afternoon ...

Yep, very disapointing for the Foxes, although, (sorry Alison) it was on the cards after their struggle to make the playoffs.
I will leave comment to "our man with the calculator" ER to do the PL scores.
But just to help, ER, Saints are safe barring a spectacularly unlikely set of results.

            Hurrah.

'A Manager's Dream' may be a cliche but Fergie knew exactly what he was doing when he enticed this guy out of retirement.
You might enjoy this tribute, scotty

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments

I was flipping tv channels earlier and got Motherwell v Ross County, blimey, thinks I, these are strong Scottish accents, then I realised it was in Gaelic. Apologies! (it was on BBC Alba which I didn't know I got!)

I might follow football if I could decide on a team. How do people pick theirs? Is it where you live, where born, where ancestors were born, colour of strip, glamour boy players, best chance of winning league title?

It chooses you, Anna - my dad wanted me to be a Celtic fan and go to Parkhead - he'd take me to midweek European games, full houses, excitement, world class players on show...yet on a Saturday all I wanted to do was go down to Paisley, to Love Street, and sit on the terraces, usually in the rain, watching a bunch of duffers bootin' a ball up in the air...and I kept on doin' it...tell you what Anna, whoever they are that are waiting for your support out there, don't expect it to be logical.

                          your home town team.
Or the town where you live.

                          no brainer.

whoever you choose, there is more pain than gain, hanging onto a precious away point on long past dark saturday tea times is an occupational hazard, and it'll cost you.

About every 20 years the team will amaze you by playing lovely football, and winning more than it loses. Hartlepool fans make scrapbooks of these phases, the rest of us are so dumbfounded that we just temporarily forget the preceding ( apparently endless) aeons of underachievement.

Music is very sweet in the bad football times. It doesn't let you down much.

And oddly, the bad times can be the best memories. The 1 0 home defeat to Ipswich in front of 7000 sad souls,, standing all alone on the Milton Road terrace, rain in a subtropical downpour. ......well I was there, and being there is really about all you can do.

                          listen to the others......and enjoy.

                            Latest forum results.

Aston Villa 1 Chelsea 2.Third place and a record for Frank Lampard.
St Mirren 0 Aberdeen 0.Now safe so not much to play for.
Watford 3 Leicester City 1.Hard luck Alison.
Fulham 1 Liverpool 3.Should be ok hopefully.
QPR 1 Newcastle United 2.Ditto for Newcastle.
                            Sunderland 1 Southampton 1.Ditto Saints.

Re Fulham.Newcastle and Southampton,it would indeed take a strange set of results to keep Wigan up and one of those three to go down.

                            Best wishes to Palace tomorrow

My Dad happened to be born in Portsmouth Barracks, and I often change trains at Fratton and my nephew is at Uni there. Should I support them?
Oh well, why not? I always support the underdog!
