Thanks for the excellent round up, ER.
a few surprises there. If Hartlepool survive it will be the greatest escape ever.At least they have given last place to it's rightful owners.

Edit: I don't suppose there is a piece of music similar to portsmouth point, called portsmouth Bottom?!

Four goal Palace!! A rare event. Even sweeter against a promotion rival. Looking forward to upcoming highlights.

Big Yogi Hughes was hard and honest as a player and has been the same as a manager, especially in his years with Falkirk. Glad to see Hartlepool making that move up the table.
No comment about the result from Paisley today except.....'expletive deleted' typical!!!!

...watched the Oldham Everton Cup Tie and have to say how impressed i am by Oldham's football against both Mersey sides ... how come they struggle in the league?

as to the 1-1 in Madrid that counts as a win for the Old Man eh

we are soon to discover if Les Bleus can prevail over their neighbours in the FA Cup

Having watched a lot of L1 football over the last few years, i would say that most teams in that division try to play good passing football. One of the big differences between leagues is the quality of the strikers. In L1, defences get let off the hook regularly by the moderate quality strikers.

One of those special afternoons yesterday when you're reminded why football is the greatest game in the world. We knew it was a make-or-break match and at 83 minutes and 1-0 down, relegation was getting close to inevitable. Then Midson scores -- one point not enough, just ten minutes to get an unlikely winner -- and Alexander bangs home our lifeline in the 94th minute!

As other forum members have noted, our results haven't done justice to our playing, but to be honest the corner from which we scored the winner should probably have been a goal kick, so it has evened out. Yes, we're still bottom, but with two points separating the bottom five teams, there's everything to play for. We play our game in hand on Tuesday and that *could* change the situation completely.

Cloughie, you kindly apologised (no need to) for Wednesday not knocking out the Frannies in the FA Cup -- glad to see another Yorkshire club do the job though (and you know how much it costs me to say that!) Hope you continue to progress towards safety.

a proper celebration by the Dons fans for the winner.
Well done, LL....long way to go yet for all of us strugglers !!
(can't believe how prolongedthe agony is in the PL..we have 12 games to go and finish on May 19....)
