Yes, might be down to the recent new manager. Saturday 5-0 result! As I've said before I stopped going to matches 3 years ago now, and on Saturday we were in the local social club watching the lunchtime Arsenal game. After the game 405 Sky was put on the screen so folks could monitor the 3.00pm game scores. Noticed it was Cov winning 1-0. About 20 mins later it said 5-0, we were all saying that was a mistake.... then I got my mobile out and checked; we were only convinced when we saw the list of goal-scorers

Scotland Yard has now dropped its investigation into referee Mark Clattenburg for allegedly using 'inappropriate language' in the direction of a millionaire professional footballer.

Was this the most absurd, time-wasting investigation ever undertaken in the history of the most famous police force in the world ?

Looks like this has totally backfired on the millionaire 'professional' and some sensitive souls who apparently took great offence at the alleged use of the word 'monkey'.

My mum used to call me 'a wee monkey' all the time when I was a kid, and the term 'ya wee monkey ye!' is a common expression of frustration in Glasgow.

And to think a referees career was put in peril and Scotland Yard was involved because of that ...
