    we won a game in 2008 ? blimey !!
only one trip to Leicester for me, a rather good game, which we lost 3-2 , in 2006.
Stockport is Rob's team...rather lean times for them, I am afraid. Not so many years since they had a very good team under Dave Jones.
pop round more often, Alison.its a great thread, none of that nasty bickering you get on some other threads...............
Edit, the season Nige was in charge was, of course, the season when Leicester totally blew it in a vital game at SMS. A draw, would have, in the end, saved you, but Matt Fryatt missed an absolute sitter a few minutes from the end which saved our bacon. That miss is a particularly memorable moment.

Identical grounds ? Yes, I hadn't thought of that !

I rather liked the atmosphere down at SMS.

TBF, we do usually get a good noise going...the luxury of a roof, after 100 years of singing on open terraces !!
Rupes...dunno. not popular round here, though, whisper it quietly, he did at least get us a decent stadium built when all the others were playing politics.
He was last seen coming back on a train from an away game at Charlton 2 years ago..I think he might be doing a bit of footy consultancy/agent type work. nothing big time.
He had a bit of a penchant for playing "Spot the player" when chairman..but again, TBF, one of the last decent things he did was blow 200k when we were broke on Morgan Schneiderlin, now plying his trade very well in the PL, and probably worth several million

          Hi Alison.

Stockport County (or the Mighty Hatters).
Not to be confused with the plastic hatters (Luton).
Only seems like yesterday we were a championship club, now we're non-league.

Sorry to hear that John Bond has died.
Heard him described as a 'fat cigar and sheepskin coat' type of manager.
Don't think they make them like that anymore.
              RIP.

Former Manchester City and Norwich City manager John Bond, who managed City in the memorable 1981 FA Cup final against Tottenham, has died aged 79.

yes John Bond was a character of the game ....

a very tasty Premier League fixture list this afternoon ... lets hope the games live up to the quality of the pairings and are not 0-0 slugfests ...

good luck to all da bored teams but given who they are playing forgive my shout please

                allez les bleus!!!!

I think beautiful autumn days, such as today is down here, are my favourite football days.
Good luck to all the board teams.

I can't take all this best of luck stuff ....I for one am behind the goal waving my hand up and down after opposing strikers miss....

especially if they are in blue....and originally played for red....

as a rule i completely agree.
I really dislike the pre match handshake.
Away team should skulk out first to derisive booing etc, foolowed by heroic entrance of home team WITHOUT music.
Captains shake hands, and off you go.

Different rules on the board though...this thread is an oasis of calm in the ocean of political vitriol that is the rest of platform 3.

Just a good thing there are no skates on here to

Anyway, football is a rubbish sport, gone right off it.
