The BIG KICK OFF IN THE BIG LEAGUE? ... the only big league that matters started yonks ago and the all-conquering Jags are now widely tipped as hot promotion candidates to a possibly bigger league that might well matter even more!

You did and I apologise, Rob ... I am obviously too much overcome with emotion at the team's current spell of brilliance.

As the previously long-suffering locals up there might put it ... 'whaur's yer ******* Barca noo ... ?'

well a small word of aspiration for the chelski bleus seems apt at this time of year ...... meanwhile back to the test match .....

In their first game in Div 1, Coventry City just managed a 1-1 draw at Yeovil

                      Normal service resumed here

A goal on the stroke of half-time is enough for Tamworth to pick up a gritty win over Stockport.

Amazing how many teams on that "sheet" of Conference results my old brain thinks of as league teams - about a dozen not counting the Gatesheads of this world. Just shows how lucky my beloved Hartlepool United were to in the old days to regularly finish bottom of Division 4 and be voted back in by their mates......

It's a very hard league to come back from now that the majoriy of teams in that division are full time .
Some ex football league clubs have sunk even further, the likes of Chester and Darlington.
BTW I've been to Hartlepool many times over the years following Stockport, happy days.

this thread needs someone to collate results !
Anyway, good point for the Owls, shame Stockport couldn't keep up their good start.
Cov shouldn't be too disappointed with a point at Yeovil...that is L1 for you...its not easy.

portsmouth have bought a new team...thankfully boscombe had a Saints striker on loan to grab them a point at farton.

Tins hats on for the Saints tomorrow....and a horrible all red strip. Booooooooooooo.

Saint Mirren got gubbed by Hibs at home - typical! I knew we were on a hiding to nothing when the Saints' Captain was making big claims for their almost-title credentials today.
Buddies captain Jim Goodwin thinks second place in the SPL is wide open and leaders St Mirren have a realistic chance.
